I had a quiet happy hour at home with loads of yummy cheeses (Pure Luck Farms Red Pepper Goat Cheese, an awesome gorgonzola & some peppery Manchego), buttery olives, caramelized onion & garlic jam & a bottle of red wine my bother gifted us Friday evening. The pups, especially Ernie, were pretty determined to get a bite.
The next morning after a quick coffee stop we headed out to Blue Hole, an amazing spring-fed swimming hole. Ray had fun swinging on the rope swing & I caught up with my September issues. We packed a killer picnic too: cornmeal fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, clove-taragon pickles & curried potato salad- yum!
