Good enough to eat.

I used to write a food blog. It was a nice practice to keep up. It helped avoid those "man, I think I made something really great a few weeks ago, but what was it again ... how did I do that..?" type of moments & kept me motivated to try new things, but I never quite hit the stride artistically. In my mind, my blog would have looked like this. Pure, gorgeous food genius. I think I spent a good hour scrolling through Eva's gorgeous blog, Adventure's in Cooking (Roast Chicken with Persimmon & Sage, Flourless Chocolate Citrus Cookies, Chantarelle Mushroom & Caramelized Shallot Risotto, oh my!). Be still my h̶e̶a̶r̶t̶ tummy!

4. Blood Orange Sangria: blood orange juice, pinot grigio, club soda, brandy, strawberries, raspberries
5. Shady Blonde: sparkling wine, lillet, grapefruit, thyme

Sister Coffee

We've got a sister! I'm so psyched to tell you about our own little coffee truck nestled up next to the shop - Sister Coffee. Hailing from the Bay Area, sisters Jenny & Maddie opened up shop just a week ago. They're already serving up delicious cold-brewed Blue Bottle coffee for our sweaty summers & will have espresso drinks very soon. Can't wait to see what these two cuties have in store!

On another note, how bout those business cards, huh? Ooof, I'm in love!

Friday Finds

I'm pretty psyched about this weekend's "super moon." We're set to have the biggest full moon of the year this Saturday night. Pretty cool, right? Read more about it here. image via Flikr

Really craving a pair of vintage sneaks. Reebok high tops, please.

Born on the island of Molok`i, Hawaii, Zoe is the only known captive white (golden) zebra in existence. You can read more about her here. So rad! via That Kind of Woman

Mmmm. Pan Roasted Baby Artichokes! I made these babes for supper last night & couldn't recommend them more.

A big floppy hat for early summer sun.

It's so hard to argue with pretty packaging.

Another awesome inexpensive on-line glasses shop. How cool are those red & tortoise ones!?

A yummy key lime tart recipe. Might have to cary birthday celebrations on into the weekend...

Weekend Rewind

I had a quiet happy hour at home with loads of yummy cheeses (Pure Luck Farms Red Pepper Goat Cheese, an awesome gorgonzola & some peppery Manchego), buttery olives, caramelized onion & garlic jam & a bottle of red wine my bother gifted us Friday evening. The pups, especially Ernie, were pretty determined to get a bite.

The next morning after a quick coffee stop we headed out to Blue Hole, an amazing spring-fed swimming hole. Ray had fun swinging on the rope swing & I caught up with my September issues. We packed a killer picnic too: cornmeal fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, clove-taragon pickles & curried potato salad- yum!
