Bricolage Curated Florals Valentine's Day Pop Up Shop

How crazy gorgeous is Bricolage Curated Floral's work!? I've been a fan of her's since I stumbled across her work at my favorite coffee spot, Houndstooth (where, it turns out, she's also a killer barista) so I was so psyched to host Samantha for a pop-up flower shop on Valentine's Day. Guys & gals flocked to the shop to snap up impeccable bouquets for their sweeties. I'm willing to bet that there were lots of happy Valentine's out there. This just might have to become a tradition..!

Rifle Paper Co.

At this point I'm pretty sure Rifle Paper Co. has cemented itself as the go to for pretty cards, journals and paper goods. Their signature florals are just too sweet to pass up. They're somehow both sophisticated and whimsical - sure to please just about anyone. When I stumbled across their catalogue I just couldn't resist sharing their gorgeous real life recreations of their illustrations. Too pretty!

Florals.

I always have a little twinge of regret when I think about our wedding. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely perfect. We were with friends and family, we had great food, good music, dogs, even fireworks, but we didn't really have a photographer. Somehow we thought friends and family could manage to get a few good snaps in & that would cover it. Well, it kind of did, but we forgot one key thing: a bridal portrait. Yes, it's a bit old fashioned & definitely a tad narcissistic, but c'mon, when are you going to look better than your wedding day?! So, if I were ever granted a do over, I'd hope my shots might turn out something like this. Julie Cope, the photographer, has such a great eye & Loretta's flowers are breathtaking. Humm.. maybe for a five year anniversary present?

Fern + Floral

I can't for the life of me remember where I stumbled across these gorgeous images, but I'm so smitten with them I couldn't resist sharing them. Florals & ferns as accessories - genius. Framing over delicate florals - perfect. Mussed blonde hair - always. These are just right.

If anyone knows the source of these beauties please let me know! Update: Images via - still would like to know what they were used for originally though!

Art & Design: Giambattista/van Aelst

Dutch still life painting popped into my head as soon as I saw Giambattista Valli's F/W '11 collection. I've always been kind of fascinated by the intricacies in still life painting during the Dutch Golden Age (around the 1600s). How do they capture all that detail!? It's pretty mind blowing. I took a trip to Amsterdam in college & spent a whole afternoon in the Rijks Museum pouring over them. I think my friends got a bit bored, but it was worth it. Willem van Aelst has always been one of my favorites & Giambattista seemed to nail the mood of his work. The bold reds, rosy pink, ruffles & of course in the amazing floral prints. See Giambattista's full collection here & check out more Dutch still life florals here. Am I the only one? Do you guys see it too?
