Ace & Jig F/W '13

I'm pretty in love with Ace & Jig's fall collection. Something just feels so right about classic shapes, easy trousers, simple doll dresses and rich wine tones for fall. A&J hit the mark as usual. The collection is streaming into stores now -- including at Olive!

The Shiny Squirrel x Samantha Hahn

Goood-ness! What a gorgeous lookbook! The Shiny Squirrel, an organization that represents several great independent designers - Ax & Apple, Cold Picnic & Leah Ball are some of my faves - teamed up with illustrator Samantha Hahn on this dreamy lookbook and it is just spot on! I'm just in love. Wow.

Hula

Can I dedicate an entire post to one outfit? Of course I can! Look at this outfit! Ooof, I'm in love. That pull over is such a thing of beauty. It's made of hula skirt plastic & mohair - how rad is that!? Sadly it's long gone & I'm sure cost a pretty penny, but if I ever stumble across it I'll be in trouble. Not to mention that adorable little bucket hat, sleek grey jeans & crisp white bag. This feels like the perfect outfit for a grey like today.

Myrtle F/W '12

I must admit, I have a shop crush. Myrtle in LA, Echo Park to be specific, is the dreamiest little jewel box of a shop. Whitney, the über sweet, bespectacled owner stocks cool-girl staples, smart jewelry, great reads and even vintage. Ermie, Samantha Pleet, Dull Diamond, Scout & Catalogue, Kate Miss, Gretchen Jones and so many other cool, smart designers load up the racks. Myrtle just released their fall lookbook and per usual, they nailed it. Easy hair, classic ankle boots, glasses, smart tennies, soft t-shirt dresses, slouchy clutches - the stuff of cool-girl dream wardrobes.

Scout & Catalogue F/W '12

Yeah, of course I'm in love with Scout & Catalogue's fall lookbook. Of course. Palm trees, rich leather, torn denim, cozy scarves, moons, florals, fedoras ... yes. I can't wait to get my hands on a piece of hers.

Look Book: Steven Alan FW '11

Wow! Steven Alan's FW '11 look book has me seriously swooning. It feels a bit like Annie Hall takes a trip to the 90s. Patterned pants, generously cut trousers, velvet, beanies, touch boots - stop it! I believe my desire for a worn out pair of overalls has been cemented as well.

Last Minute Halloween: Cher Horowitz

Did you lust after Cher's crazy wardrobe software as much as I did? How amazing would it be to flip through your laptop to pick an outfit?! Cher was so before her time. So maybe you don't have crazy outfit curating computer programs, a personal masseuse, or an A-what-ah ... I mean an Alaia but you can easily channel Cher for Halloween. Break out that 90s school-girl plaid that's been lurking in your closet & toss on a fuzzy angora sweater & knee socks. Or shimmy into a dress so tight only Calvin Klein would claim it. Bonus points for French manicured acrylics, neon green gum, a flip phone & shopping bags!
