Remembering Frida

I'm a huge Frida fan so when I was asked if I had anything in the shop that might fit the mood of a Frida inspired shoot for Vetta Magazine, a newly launched Austin publication, I flipped! Rich colors, smoldering brows, eclectic jewelry, florals, men's wear nods -- stylist Graham Cumberbatch nailed it. Various Tiro Tiro pieces, the classic Miranda Bennett Every Day dress, a pretty Lee Coren scarf, Sister necklaces, a biggie Ilana Kohn tee & my favorite Feral Childe shirt all made an appearance. Check out the full spread here.

Art Socks

Well now I know what my feet are missing: miniaturized master paintings, obviously. I'm sure my day would be better with Matisse ladies circling my ankles. Super stylist Kate Brien styled these crazy rad art socks for Vogue to celebrate the Frieze Art Fair last month & they've been stuck in my head ever since. A little googling unearthed a treasure trove of art socks - looks like it's time for a weekend treat!

Denim

I spent a better part of the evening clicking through the Sartorialist last night & something about these two images just stuck with me. I'm definitely a jeans & t-shirt gal, so naturally they popped to me. There's something so democratic, so seasonless, effortless, timeless about denim. Perfect for spring with a little eyelet tank & iced coffee or layered up under a blue velvet blazer (!).

Closet Visit

Boy am I glad to see Closet Visit back! After a brief (ok, it felt like forever) hiatus, Jeana Sohn's back behind the camera and I couldn't be happier. Her beautiful blog satisfies my sartorial lust & voyeuristic tendencies in one fell swoop. Vena Cava's Sophie Buhai kicks off Sohn's new content, but her archives hold glimpses into the closets of Dream Collective's Kathryn Bentley, Jesse Kamm, Refinery 29s Brenda Egan, Clare Vivier and loads more fashion ladies you probably have a style crush on. I know I do.

Apiece Apart S/S '13

Oof, these colors, those compositions, the fuzzy focus, I can't wait to see more from Apiece Apart's S/S '13 dreaminess.

Rad Lady

I'm excited to share a new project I've been working on lately: Rad Lady! I am lucky to have some incredible, smart, creative, stylish women in my life. They make me who I am and inspire me every day I just had to share them with everyone. I'm lucky to know these babes & can't wait for you to get to know them too. First up we have Christa Palazzolo of Boy Friend, Xochi Solis, an incredible artist and Public Programing Director of the Visual Art Center & Sarah Murphy of Hey Murphy jewelry.

Overalls

Ever sense Ralph Lauren sent overalls strutting down the runway in 2010 the childhood staple has been creeping its way back into sartorial consciousness. Initially a bit luke warm on the idea, I'm starting to warm up to them. I really dig effortlessly distressed shortalls teamed up with a sharp blazer. But with options in leather, distressed and crisp inky blue denim and cropped it's tough to go wrong.

Torn

I'm really digging the I-just-kind-of-fell-out-of-bed-and-put-on-these-jeans-I-think-they-might-be-my-boyfriend's-I'm-not-sure look right now. It gives me flashbacks to 5-7-9 (that place still exists!?), to Green Day, to baby doll tees, but not in a bad way. In a badass 90s babe way. Think Winona, Drew & Gwen but with a bit more polish. Sleek heels and blazers rather than crop tops and combat boots ... come to think of it, I'm gonna go ahead and say crop tops and combat boots are a go too. Why not?

Red or pink?

I've always reached for a bright orange-red when I was to dress it up a bit but lately I'm finding myself lusting after a killer bright pink. What's your favorite swipe of color?

Winter Green

vintage sunglasses // Joie leather jacket (similar here) // Hey Murphy necklace // Olive + Ernie necklace // Anthropologie  shirt // vintage trousers // Zara heels

It's unseasonably green in Texas. So nice to see all the little shoots peaking out. They're a tad early I think, but it seems unlikely it'll freeze this year. It makes me miss a blustery snow day, of which believe it or not, we had a few when I was a kid, but when you can throw on mint green trousers a buttery leather jacket in the "dead of winter" and run around without freezing you can't complain.
