Denim

I spent a better part of the evening clicking through the Sartorialist last night & something about these two images just stuck with me. I'm definitely a jeans & t-shirt gal, so naturally they popped to me. There's something so democratic, so seasonless, effortless, timeless about denim. Perfect for spring with a little eyelet tank & iced coffee or layered up under a blue velvet blazer (!).

Chucks

I am so happy to see the resurgence of comfy, classic Chuck Taylors. Somehow they look so fresh. I'm digging my pair from high school out of my closet this afternoon to give them another whirl.

Fashion Week Favorites

Neon and fur.

Neon and camel.

Textured neutrals.

Rust and wine.

Orange pop.

Mint.

Pastels.

Just a few, ok a lot, of my favorite looks from NY Fashion Week. All of the muted tones and neutrals teamed up with little pops of color are so amazing. Loving the restrained monochromatic looks with loads of texture too.

Jungle Fever

Man you guys, it is HOT in Texas. Too hot for anything but big flouncy skirts, mint iced tea, afternoon naps & tons of swimming. I was so happy to find this bright jungle print skirt on my weekly thrift trip -- there are purple parrots perched in there! I've been living in it ever since & it's doing a nice job of keeping me cool. Even Ernie likes it!

My Look: West Texas Rain Showers

After an afternoon rain shower in Marfa Ray & I snuck out to dinner at Cochineal. On our walk there we saw a rainbow over Judd's house & splashed through a few puddles. Dinner was dreamy. I still can't get the rich date pudding we had out of my head.

The Look: Banker Shirts

Looks like I have a new thrift goal for the week. Or maybe I'll just borrow from the boys & head over to Brooks Brothers.

The Look: Maxi T-Shirt Dress

I instantly fell in love with this look when I stumbled across it on The Sartorialist. This lady knows how to wear a t-shirt dress! Comfy sandals & breezy dresses are summer staples but somehow this looks completely new. My prowl for a maxi t-shirt dress beings ... now!

Keep Cool.

I think it's safe to say that we are officially in the dog days of summer. It is just do hot to do much of anything - let alone put together a decent outfit!

Sweater Weather

Today was the first day in Texas that could be considered chilly by any reasonable standards. It never broke 55° F, which is pretty brisk I'd say. Finally it's cool enough to snuggle up in cozy sweaters!

Staple: Classic Chambray Shirt

Denim on denim and chambray paired with inky dark denim - delicious! Don't you just love the red lips & hair!? Her polished make-up paired with that worn shirt is just perfect. Makes me want to reach for a box of red hair dye.

Get the look: there's new chambray in the shop!
